Should I use mono or stereo output from MainStage?
Stereo audio is always preferable because it offers a greater sense of space and direction, and more accurately represents what we hear naturally with our ears. In combining the left and right audio channels, the flattened mono audio loses this natural sense of depth.
If you are unable to use stereo, our programming is already prepared with the Gain plugin on the Output 1-2 channel strip. Simply turn on the plugin and the output will be “summed” to mono. (It is better to combine the left and right audio channels than to only use the left channel).
