If you’re new to keyboard programming or MainStage, be sure to read our introduction to MainStage.
Before applying for a rental package, purchase and download MainStage from the Apple App Store.
In addition to learning about MainStage from any of the numerous free tutorials online, we encourage you to download our sample concert file to test your equipment before your rental.
MainStage files are called concerts. A concert contains all of the instruments and sound effects you’ll use for a performance. MainStage can only run one concert at a time, so each player will need a dedicated computer running MainStage.
As soon as your MagicFox rental has been approved, you’ll receive an email with a download link. MainStage concert files are usually very large (several gigabytes!), so a fast, reliable internet connection is ideal.
Move the compressed download file to a convenient location on your computer and unzip it.
We do not recommend running MainStage concert files directly from an external hard drive because data transfer can be slower than your internal hard drive and the USB connection is a potential point of failure.
Concert files are watermarked with the name of your organization and production dates. When your production closes, you must permanently delete them.
