# How do I delete a patch?

If your production needs to omit music, such as for a scene change, you may have keyboard patches you don’t need.

We recommend that you **skip** patches and sets rather than deleting them. When you skip a patch or set, it's removed from the performance patch list but remains in the concert file. That way, it's easy to restore if you ever need it in the future.

### To skip and unskip

Navigate to the patch or set you want to skip and make sure it’s highlighted.

Right-click on the item or use the Patch List Action pop-up menu and choose `Skip` or `Don’t Skip`. You can also use the keyboard shortcut `Control-S` or `Control-D`, respectively.

### To delete

Navigate to the patch or set you want to delete and make sure it’s highlighted. Press the `Delete` key on your computer keyboard or choose `Edit > Delete`.
